Liv.52, a poly-herbal formulation is designed for the treatment and management of liver disorders and is one of world’s top-selling herbal drugsIt increases protein (albumin) synthesis, normalizes liver function tests and shortens disease recovery period. It also restores the functional activity of the liver by cellular regeneration and improves appetite.

Pharmacological actions of Liv.52:

Hepatoprotective action: The natural ingredients in Liv.52 exhibit potent hepatoprotective properties against chemically-induced hepatotoxicity. It restores the functional efficiency of the liver by protecting the hepatic parenchyma and promoting hepatocellular regeneration. The antiperoxidative activity of Liv.52  prevents the loss of functional integrity of the cell membrane, maintains cytochrome P-450 enzyme system. Liv.52 increases glucose uptake, enhances fatty acid metabolism, possesses antioxidant effect, and thus decreases fat accumulation in the liver. These actions synergistically help in preventing non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). In pre-cirrhotic conditions, Liv.52 arrests the progress of cirrhosis and prevents further liver damage.

Liv. 52 DS Mechanism of Action - How Does Liv. 52 DS Work

The robust antioxidant property of Liv. 52 makes it a strong detoxifying agent which counteracts the different types of toxins and poisonous substances present in water, food, air and medications. Treatment with Liv.52 tablets regulate the hepatic enzyme levels, improve absorption and enhance the functional effectiveness of the liver. Liv. 52  rehabilitate the functional efficiency of the liver by guarding the hepatic parenchyma from impairment and supporting the improvement of liver cell regeneration.
Liv. 52 enables quick elimination of acetaldehyde, the toxic intermediate metabolite that is formed as a result of alcohol metabolism, and safety from hepatic damage which arises a result of alcohol consumption. Liv. 52 moderate the lipotropic activity in patients suffering from the medical condition of chronic alcoholism, and prevents the penetration of fats into the liver. Liv. 52 sustain the standard levels of serum cholesterol, lipoproteins, phospholipids, and triglycerides through its cholesterol-controlling action. In pre-cirrhotic circumstances, Liv. 52 stops the development of the disease and inhibits further liver injury. As an everyday health enhancement tablet, Liv. 52 DS tablets boost appetite, the digestion and assimilation processes, and stimulate weight gain.

Liv 52 is backed by almost 250 clinical studies. In 2004, a meta-analysis of 50 Phase III clinical trials, conducted over 30 years on 4,490 patients, was carried out to evaluate the long-term efficacy and safety of Liv.52 in hepatitis A. The cumulative data analysis revealed clinical and biochemical improvements with significant symptomatic control. In addition, there was highly significant reduction in the mean recovery period. Liv.52 is the only herbal drug with a meta-analysis study

Side effects:

Liv.52 is not known to have any side effects if taken as per the prescribed dosage.

I am not sure if any studies were done on humans for AAS use.

I would ask NL members if they have done blood work after Liv 52 to share their results.

Were any studies done on TUDCA in humans on AAS use?

I've seen some people post promising blood work online on other forums, not sure about research. I think there have been studies done with Choline and Inosotol, I'll see if i can find them.

I'm going through monthly blood testing for the next year for liver function. My specialist seems to think my over the top alcohol usage through my misguided youth is probably the main factor. She said the steroid usage didn't help matters; but she was more concerned about alcohol.

I never did much for orals, anavar, t-bol... but if damage was already done. Cirrhosis runs on my dads side.

So i will be posting my labs after three months, so i can get a baseline, and will also try to log what I was taking (supplements, ped's) during each time frame. Will be a good reference point for me and perhaps others.

Everyone was using Liv 52 back then (in the 80's). It was very popular among bodybuilders....
