Reaching out to our brothers and sisters on here to check in if you, family, friends have been affected by the recent and currently on going (as of this topic posting) Air Canada strike. What are your/their plans?

My son was able to fly out here to see me for this month, but he's due back by Aug 30 - we'll see what happens if it'll be resolved by then.

I'm not affected but I don't blame them for striking, expecting anyone to work for free is ridiculous.

As of this morning, the strike is over.
The non-compliance to return to work and making a very big open secret public, getting the labour minister involved in an investigation, has worked in their favour and laid an egg smashed on Air Canada executives faces.

Take what you want from unions, the good and the bad, but I think everyone can appreciate and understand them working for free for potentially hours is utter bullshit. I hope everyone is happy after last nights round of mediation and agreement.

no- unions are the thief of profit, no longer speaking for living and working conditions. if they actually were it should have never gotten to this, do u see the hyprocrisy? we are unified to protect to but we havent done anything so now we must strike. pass the puck.

canada post canadian tire air canada, tim hortins- anything with the name has become a honey pot money burning political virtue signalling campaign hot topic.

dono air canada has always been shit and mostly x2 the price, to have some broad tell me to remove my headphones - i think thats the unions job to get these folks more money. should have never got to the point of the strike and now that it has what am i paying $350 in union dues for? better off to go drive a tow truck.
