This place is no secret hideout for "people in the know" or anything but if you didn't know it was there you would drive passed it and never know. In fact the wife and I drove past I don't know how many times b4 we found out there was a conservation area there. It's just far enough off of the beaten track so you can enjoy the forest sounds and the water, free of traffic and other noise pollution.
That silly Kingfisher though, down there having his little bath in the spray, without a care in the world. That is something that I will treasure always. He knew we were there but he also knew he had 0 to fear from us and even if we wanted to harrass him (I'm sure some wankers try in situations like that) he would have been far too quick anyway. But there he was preening away and every once in a bit he'd look up to clock our position and make sure nothing had changed.
It was a ton more walking than I have done in a very long time but I'm really happy with how it went. A little surprised I got as far as I did too but I expect that by tomorrow morning I'll know just how much too far I pushed it. Meh, was worth it!
