So I got a hernia in about 2013 doing a shark tank training for a fight, the last round was with a heavy weight who I went from turtle to four points and stood straight up, felt my stomach tear.

Still fought and won

Hernia never went away, bailed on my surgery because I didn’t want to take time off.

Anyways now that I’m lifting heavy and eating tons trying to bulk it’s bulging and hurting more than ever.

Would a belt help with this? If so what kind?

Currently taking gh in my lower abdomen about 3 inches from the hernia. Is that making it worse?

If I ever do get surgery will I ever be the same coming back?

Sucks because I just recovered from a meniscus repair which was my first surgery after doing competitive mma/bjj since 2007

Hernia belt is only delaying the inevitable bro
You need the mesh repair, you need to heal well and fast (gh, bpc/tb, etc), and then slowly add forces to it while using the belt.

Get it fixed before you can't train ever again or worse you develop other serious internal gut things

I've rehabilitated a ton of these, lifters and nonlifters. It's just the way it's gotta be.

Will I be better or worse afterwards? I’ve heard horror stories of people saying the surgery made life way worse and they felt pain in there lifts or rolls after forever

Now I will say having my meniscus cut out let’s my leg actually function again. I’m still figuring out what I can and can’t do with it, like leg riding, leg pummeling, leg staples and leg turks

Moleman definitely right to get it done now being young and healthy. Bpc/tb and gh is the king, drs are blown away with my healing time everytime I’ve used them.

In my experience, the ones who have failure of the surgery are the ones who don't follow the surgeon directive to the letter.
Just because you'll feel better within a few weeks, doesn't mean you are better. That's a huge statement I use in clinic to my patients...and 95% of the time geared towards men. Using the peptides will aid in faster recovery but you still must abide by the time and the maturing of the tissues as they scar down.

Think of it this way: instead of thinking I don't have time to be down and out from surgery, it's "I don't have time to be sick and out" so getting the intervention done would benefit in the long run.
Remember man...a hernia that's exploded is your freakin' guts coming out. You really want that exposure? The infection risk? What if it gets caught and then entrapped? You're going to be gutted then and put on a 6-12 month recovery instead of a 2-4 month.

I would absolutely get the consults, different options, be honest in what you want to do with yourself afterwards. Expectations vs reality, training smarter, not harder is what should guide you going forward.

That’s solid advice man, I have a drs appointment booked in abit so I’ll discuss my concerns then and see if they will send me back to a specialist
